Edwards Jury Resumes Deliberations Today

The sixth week of the John Edwards Trial begins with a seventh day of jury deliberations.

Jeff Tiberii: Despite plenty of speculation no one outside the jury knows what progress it has made or how close it could be to a verdict. The eight men and four women have now spent more than 30 hours deliberating six alleged counts of campaign finance violations. That's about twice as long as the defense needed to call witnesses and present its case. On Friday there was a 35-minute closed court session to deal with a juror matter, although the judge provided no specifics as to what that was. Edwards is accused of using about a million dollars from two wealthy donors to try to hide his pregnant mistress. In convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison.

Jeff Tiberii is the co-host of վ's "Due South." Jeff joined վ in 2011.
