Terry Gildea

Program Director

Terry Gildea comes to ¼ª²ÊÍøÍøÕ¾ as program director after more than 15 years in public radio. Most recently he was executive director of Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA) and served in that role for three years, after serving on the board of directors for five years. Terry has worked at several public radio stations across the country. He was program director at KLCC in Eugene, Oregon, news director at KUER in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as a local show host and reporter at Texas Public Radio (KSTX) in San Antonio. Terry began his career in Washington, D.C., providing localized coverage of Congress to public radio station with Capitol News Connection. His proudest moments as a reporter include covering military medicine for NPR’s Impact of War Project and providing national coverage of the legal battle over marriage equality in Utah. Terry’s work has been recognized by RTDNA, SPJ, The Texas AP Broadcasters, and The Houston Press Club. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Washington and a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
