Chris Haxel is American Homefront's reporter at KCUR in Kansas City, Missouri covering military personnel, veterans and their families. He previously covered guns and gun culture for the public media project "Guns & America."
A U.S. Army veteran, Haxel grew up in Springfield, Illinois, but has lived in seven states and four countries.
He previously reported for newspapers in Kansas and Michigan.
