Foo Fighters cancel all dates following drummer's death

Foo Fighters have canceled all upcoming concert dates following the .

The rockers had been scheduled to play at the in Las Vegas on Sunday as well as spring dates at the Beale Street Music Festival; the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival; Columbia, Maryland; Raleigh, North Carolina; Daytona Beach, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; the Boston Calling Music Festival; and summer dates in Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and the UK.

鈥淚t is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother,鈥� the band said in a statement Tuesday.

Hawkins died Friday during a South American tour with the rock band. He was 50.

鈥淲e鈥檙e sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won鈥檛 be seeing one another as planned,鈥� the band's statement read. 鈥淚nstead, let鈥檚 take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we鈥檝e made together.鈥�

Hawkins was Alanis Morissette's touring drummer when he joined Foo Fighters in 1997. He played on the band's biggest albums including 鈥淥ne by One鈥� and 鈥淚n Your Honor,鈥� and on hit singles like 鈥淏est of You.鈥�

In lead singer David Grohl鈥檚 2021 book 鈥淭he Storyteller,鈥� he called Hawkins his 鈥渂rother from another mother, my best friend, a man for whom I would take a bullet."
