Budget Compromise Nears Final Approval

Gov. Pat McCrory said this morning he will sign the the state Senate approved this week.

The House is expected to give the $21.7 billion spending plan final approval tonight or tomorrow morning before it heads to the governor's desk. 

Host Frank Stasio talks with ¼ª²ÊÍøÍøÕ¾ capitol reporters and about the details of the final budget and how the General Assembly came to an agreement on state spending.

Longtime NPR correspondent Frank Stasio was named permanent host of The State of Things in June 2006. A native of Buffalo, Frank has been in radio since the age of 19. He began his public radio career at WOI in Ames, Iowa, where he was a magazine show anchor and the station's News Director.
