NC food banks brace for funding cuts

The US Department of Agriculture is ending a pandemic-era program that provided hundreds of millions of dollars for schools and food banks across the country.

The money allowed organizations like the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina to purchase fresh food from area farmers and producers. That could mean a loss of approximately $11 million dollars statewide.
