President Barack Obama criticized GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump during a rally for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on the UNC campus in Chapel Hill, N.C., Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 2, 2016.

President Obama rallied supporters of Hillary Clinton in North Carolina on Wednesday. The president made the case to a crowd in Chapel Hill for Clinton to succeed him in office.

Obama said Clinton would build off the progress he made in office, and argued Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump would erase that progress. He urged a crowd of young voters to help Clinton win in the same way the demographic helped him win the White House.

“It is that grassroots work that led us to win North Carolina in 2008 and you are why we will win North Carolina in 2016,” Obama said.

Both Clinton and Trump will be in North Carolina today in a final push for votes in the battleground state. Polls have the candidates running neck-and-neck in the state with six days until the election.

President Obama will return to Fayetteville on Friday to stump for the Democratic nominee.
