North Carolina is one of the fastest-growing states in the country, a popular destination for people looking for a good place to live. But some transplants don鈥檛 really choose North Carolina. Sama al-Mafarchi came to Durham as a refugee from Iraq. She became a friend and colleague to Jenny Bodnar, a lifelong Durham resident. Their story is told by Jenny鈥檚 father and brother, Chip and Teddy Denton.
