The exhibit is called Real & Surreal, and the title seems perfect for the type of work he does. Johnson moved to the mountains of North Carolina 40 years ago. He says that the beauty of the natural environment strongly influenced his work.
The exhibit runs through April 20. If this image makes you feel like wandering around your backyard with colored pencils, there's a three day workshop planned. The event will be held at The Historic Moorefields Estate, which is surrounded by 70 acres of woodlands and pasture.
