Scene 1: Greenberg building
Sound effect: Woman walking in, entering elevator. Elevator moves up, then stops, we hear the ding, doors open then city sounds.
BELINDA
(yelling)
Malik!
JONES
Over here.
Sound effect: Belinda's footsteps walking over.
BELINDA
This is crazy. Why do we have to talk on top of the Jade City Towers? It's cold as I don't know what out here. It's not gonna change anything I told you before, I'm done.
JONES
You know I love you.
BELINDA
Love is action Malik; it's respect. Love doesn't hide or have secrets. What are you hiding?
JONES
What I had too. But not anymore, today I want you to know everything.
BELINDA
Too late Malik.
JONES
How can you say that without giving me a chance?
BELINDA
All I've given you are chances. And you hurt me every time. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity Malik and I'm not insane. There comes a point when you have to get off the roller coaster.
JONES
That's what our relationship has been, hunh? A roller coaster?.
BELINDA
I don't have time for games or sugar coating anymore, so yeah, that's exactly what it's been.
JONES
You know-- you can see the entire city from this rooftop, isn't she beautiful? I was born here on the floor of a small apartment in Concrete Falls. This city taught me to dream, this city made me tough, taught me to care. She is so very perfect in her imperfections. When she calls I have to go, I have to answer. That doesn't mean I don't love you. I do. I think you know that. But-
BELINDA
Stop! Just stop! What the hell? You bring me up here and start talking like a crazy man and I'm suppose to feel sorry for you and take you back. That was the plan? Seriously鈥� I can't believe you, man.
JONES
Just let me-
BELINDA
Let you what Malik? I really thought we had something and then you just, you just flaked, always some excuse鈥� How many times have you stood me up?
JONES

BELINDA

JONES

BELINDA
Exactly. (walks away) Hey! What are you doing! Get away from the ledge, don't play like that Malik! Malik! (screams) Oh God!!!! He jumped!!!
Sound Effect: Jones falling then flying, then theme music, then landing back on the roof.
JONES

BELINDA

JONES

BELINDA

JONES
I couldn't鈥� I mean I didn't think you could handle it.
BELINDA
